Visiting the Niagara Falls is on a lot of people’s to do list. If it is on yours, read on to get some ideas of what to do and see while you are there.

Where to stay

Visiting the Falls is a once in a lifetime experience. It really is worth spending a little extra to book yourself into a really nice hotel. Doing so will make your trip all the more memorable.

The Niagara Falls Marriott fits the bill perfectly. If you stay on the upper floors you can even see the waterfalls from your room. When you book, be sure to ask for one of these special rooms to make sure you are not situated on the side of the hotel that does not face the Falls.

How to see the Niagara Falls

There are several different ways for you to experience these beautiful waterfalls. It is well worth taking the time to do one or two of them. That way you get to see these majestic and powerful waterfalls from a range of angles and fully appreciate how wonderful they are.

You can get a panoramic view of them from the Skylon Tower. For a closer view, the Niagara Falls Observation Tower is a good option.

If you really want to appreciate the power of these waterfalls, you need to visit the bottom of the Falls. Surprisingly, there are several ways to do this. You can take a boat trip that takes you to within yards of where the waterfall meets the water below. If you are not keen on boats, take the Behind the Falls tour. This gives you access to a wooden walkway that runs almost to the edge of the actual waterfalls.

Dinner with a view

Now that the Niagara Falls is lit up for most of the year, you can also enjoy them at night. A great way of doing it is to book yourself a dinner in the revolving restaurant atop the Skylon Tower. Or if you prefer you can book yourself a night-time cruise onboard the Hornblower that includes dinner.

Other attractions

The Niagara Falls has been a big tourist attraction for over 150-years, so unsurprisingly there is plenty to do and see in the area. Here are a few details about the attractions most people visit once they have seen the actual Falls.

The Greg Frewin Magic Theatre Canada

This attraction has consistently got good reviews over the years, so it is well worth checking out. His Wild Magic illusion show sells out fast. It is every bit as glitzy as any Vegas show.

Visit Ripley´s Believe It or Not!

Now that this attraction has been completely renovated, it is once again becoming a favorite with visitors. When you buy a ticket, you get access to three attractions in one. The wax museum, 4D moving theatre, and Odditorium are all worth visiting. However, if you only want to visit one of them you can buy a ticket for just that one. To help you to decide which of the three to spend time in, I suggest that you read a few of the most recent reviews on this page.

Like everyone else, I love to travel, have visited a lot of countries and all that but my big thing is Africa.
