My views on the actors prancing around on the actual site of Checkpoint Charlie are not exactly news to regular followers of Grown-up Travel Guide. Fortunately the rest of the area around Kochstrasse/Zimmerstrasse has finally got the memorials and exhibitions it deserves – although you still have to zigzag around the fake souvenir stalls of course. The hut there is also fake – the last real one to be used can be found here in Dahlem at the superb Allied Museum housed in a former US Forces cinema which covers the post-war era in fine style.
