What’s Stopping You Travelling The World?

It’s a big dream for lots of people, but sometimes it might seem as though it is never going to happen. If you have always had a bit of a wanderlust, then you probably would agree that travelling the world is the golden event itself. However you might feel that there are all sorts of obligations and real world issues which are stopping you from going away for an extended period of time.

The truth is that all of these obstacles can be easily overcome if you just pay attention to some of their simple solutions and don’t mind changing things around a bit. In some cases you might need to make a compromise or sacrifice, but if you really want to see the world then that should not be too much of a problem. Let’s take a look at what might be stopping you from travelling the world – and what you can do about it.

Money

This is probably the big one for most people. Clearly, you can’t just get up and go and hope for the best financially. Or can you? As it turns out, plenty of people before you have set off without anything expect an outgoing ticket, finding work along the way and going from place to place for the rest of their lives.

That’s not for everyone, however, so you might need to find a compromise in order to be able to afford your travels. First of all, go out and find as many Jet2Holidays discount codes as you can. All of these vouchers will help you greatly along the way. But also consider the possibility of selling many of your possessions and finding money that way. As You can see, there is always something you can do to fund your travels around the world.

Pets

Perhaps you have pets at home and you need to make sure that they are looked after. While you definitely can’t just abandon them, however, there are options available here too. Some people travel the world with their dog, and there have even been one or two great blogs about this kind of travel. But with cats and other pets, this might not be an option.

You will have to either re-home them or find a very kind friend who can look after them for the duration of your trip. In any case, you should bear in mind that it is always possible to travel if you have pets to your name.

Fear

If we get down to it, what a lot of the excuses are really about, and where they really come form, is fear. You might well be afraid to travel the world, because it is a genuinely frightening experience in many ways. If it was not frightening at all, then it would not be worth it. But overcoming the fear can be difficult, and often the only way is to throw caution to the wind and just go for it. You will certainly not regret it, and it might even be the best thing you’ve ever done for yourself.

I know what it's like to go from being a crazy backpacker without a care in the world, via being a vaguely sensible parent to being an adventurer once more. In other words, evolving into a Grown-up Traveller.

Like everyone else, I love to travel, have visited a lot of countries and all that but my big thing is Africa.

I also own and run The Grown-up Travel Company as a travel designer creating personalised African itineraries for experienced adventurers
