Private tour of the region

If you’re searching for the ultimate luxury trip, what better way to experience the region than on a private tour? Experts will guide you through some of the highlights of Southern France, offering a unique insight into the culture, history and sights.

The French Riviera is home to some glamorous locations including Canne, famous for the annual film festival, Saint Tropez and Monaco, the sovereign city-state. A private tour around this beautiful coastline is sure to offer some stunning views across the Mediterranean as well as swimming and snorkeling opportunities.

Nice provides a great balance of cosmopolitan vibes and rustic authenticity, making it a great city to visit on a private tour. The food and drink are exceptional, and the city offers a rich and interesting culture.

Visit Vineyards in Provence

Provence is one the most famous regions in France for wine. Red and white wine lovers won’t be disappointed by the selections on offer, but it’s the pale rose wine that really makes a statement in the warmer months.

Visit one, or more, of these picture-perfect vineyards for a half or full day, and soak up the atmosphere of the surrounding countryside as you sip the afternoon away.

Marseille and Avignon are the main cities in the region, and boast an array of art, culture, museums and shopping, making them great options for stop-offs on your visit to Provence.

Local markets

Wherever you visit in Southern France, the local markets should make your to-do list. Nice has some of the best markets in the area, and you’ll find streets adorned with colorful produce, flowers, art, crafts and antiques on a regular basis during the summer.

As well as offering an authentic way of seeing the city, the markets offer the chance to mix with the locals and enjoy a coffee stop at one of the many street-side cafes.

Ski in Val Thorens

This snow-sure, high-altitude resort offers some excellent skiing opportunities for all levels. The resort provides a variety of ski terrain and multiple bars and restaurants (one of which boasts two Michelin stars). The ski lifts are excellent and there are plenty of green, blue, red and black runs, not to mention some incredible views across the mountains.

Those traveling with children will be impressed by the choice of ski schools and the range of activities such as tobogganing, ice-skating, and dog-drawn sleigh rides.

There’s no doubt that the south of France offers a range of varied experiences for all interests. Your exact itinerary is likely to depend on the time of year you choose to take your vacation and the activities you want to enjoy.

Before you travel, make sure you’re up to date with any specific entry requirements, and check out expected weather conditions so you know what to pack!
