Krakow is a Polish city famous for its rich architecture including Renaissance, Baroque, and Gothic buildings. Between marveling at monuments there are also plenty of other fun activities you can try. There are endless hidden gems to discover in the city such as quirky minigolf bars and arcades. If you’re looking for something a little more adventurous you could try out white water rafting or a shooting range. Krakow has a lot to offer and you’ll never be short of things to do. Here are five awesome activities for a weekend in Krakow.

Wawel Hill river cruise

Wawel Hill is home to the royal Wawel Castle which has archeological remains dating back to the fourth century. It was also the first place in the world to be made an UNESCO world heritage site. You can enjoy a Wawel Hill river cruise which takes you right past the castle and all the way down the Vistula River. It’s also a lovely choice if you’re looking for a romantic evening activity.

Krakow shooting range

For those of you looking for something a little noisier, you could check out the Krakow shooting range. You can try target practice with a range of guns including a Kalashnikov. You don’t need to have any experience as an instructor will help you on the day. There are also plenty of safety guidelines in place. If you’ve never shot a gun before it can be an exhilarating experience.

 White water rafting

Another one for thrill seekers, rafting on Dunajec River is an unforgettable experience. You’ll need to book transport to the river as it is located just outside Krakow, but you can go there and back within a few hours. Alternatively, there is also an artificial white water rafting river in the city. This is a great option for kids.

Axe throwing

For an original stag do, or those simply looking for primal entertainment, Axe Nation offers axe throwing practice and events. You can book it as a group and pretend to be a viking for the evening with your friends. It’s even available for team-building activities. You can even hire Axe Nation for outdoor events as they offer mobile axe targets and set ups. If you arrange a stag weekend in Krakow, for example, this could be a fun option, or you could visit one of their many locations in Poland.

Cosmic minigolf

If you’re looking for a place to wind down in the evening with something extra to keep you entertained, how about a round of cosmic minigolf? This quirky little place has cheap local beer on tap, along with a 9-track space-themed minigolf field. The bar is decorated with glow in the dark galactic murals and has a friendly atmosphere. Find out more about the cosmic mini golf pub.

As you can see there are plenty of original things to do in Krakow. You can certainly enjoy a packed itinerary and there’s something for every season. You can find a surprise around every corner.
