The Best Christmas Markets in Amsterdam in 2023

The Magic of Amsterdam’s Christmas Markets

We’re rattling through the 2023 Xmas markets, and now it’s the turn of the Netherlands. It’s been a while since I was in Amsterdam, and I think the majority of tourists visit during the warmer months. Winter in the city is not always a particularly pleasant time of year; rainy and cold rather than with snow deep and crisp and even (is that right? Close enough I guess and I’m in no mood to Google…)

That being said, the pre-Christmas period is a fine time to travel to Amsterdam – perhaps even with the sole purpose of exploring its eclectic Chrimbo markets.

It’s a city renowned for its picturesque canals and rich history, and it transforms into a winter wonderland during the festive season.

So saddle up, we’re going to go deep…

In 2023, Amsterdam’s Christmas markets are set to be more enchanting than ever, offering a unique blend of traditional Dutch Christmas charm and contemporary festivities.
