If you are health-conscious, you never miss an opportunity to exercise, even when you’re away from home. While finding the time and place to work out while you are traveling can seem difficult, there are actually plenty of applications out there that can help you get your regiment in.

In today’s constantly-connect world, there is really no reason why you can’t find an app that suits your exercise needs. There is a wide range to choose from, each working on your Android-enabled devices. Here are a few of the top apps.

Plan Ahead

If you like to run, then you need to know what you’re getting into when you travel when it comes to weather conditions. This weather app from Apalon Apps makes planning ahead a breeze with its many different overlays and functions.

Besides having the ability to check the local weather — and weather conditions across the country — this app features a seven-day forecast so you can stay ahead of the weather no matter what. There are also other important stats like barometric pressure, sunset and sunrise times, heat index and even wind direction and speed so you can plan your running accordingly. These features are all available on the free version of the application.

Fitness Trackers

If you are serious about fitness and like to keep track of as many aspects of your routine as you can, then you would be hard-pressed to find a better app than MyFitnessPal.

This free app can track nearly any metric you want to. It can keep track of your caloric intake: you just select what you eat from a database filled with over six million cuisines and foods and the app adds the calories up for you. Then, you input your exercises throughout the day and MyFitnessPal will automatically tell you the difference, so you can stay on track.

The app will also create a personalized diet plan for you if you wish and suggest activities you can do to help lose weight and stay in shape.

Personal Trainers

If you like using a personal trainer when you exercise for motivation and instruction, then try Workout Trainer. This app offers thousands of free and paid workout exercises and training session to get you is great shape.

You can follow along as your fitness trainer explains the proper way to perform exercises. They will give you timed instructions and keep you informed on your progress. You can also create and edit personalized workouts that are made up of the exercises you prefer.

Perhaps the best aspect of this app is that the exercises do not require any additional equipment. All of the routines use your bodyweight only, so you can work out in your hotel room or in the park nearby. Most of the exercises are fairly high intensity, so make sure you can handle it before using the app.
