How the times they are-a-changing – I am old enough to remember paper airline tickets and to this day I still consider printing off my travel documents before a trip. You will be pleased to know that I have finally stopped wasting paper like this, though, since I can get everything I need off my mobile phone.
This transition was not problem-free, however, and it is only recently that mobile data has become so affordable that it is not an issue to go online to retrieve documents at the airport or train station – at least in most places. The safest option until now has been to download what you need to your phone in case you cannot connect.
Or what if your phone runs out of power at the critical moment? Maybe paper copies would be better after all?
