The old Aurora B. are getting a lot of attention at the moment given the fact that conditions are supposed to be better now than for years. Despite the best efforts of the Norwegian tourism authorities to claim exclusive ownership of the Northern Lights, they can of course be seen in many other countries – the phenomenon is even being seen in the north of England.
We’ve already had some fantastic light-shows over our place in Trondheim, central Norway but in our unbiased (ahem!) opinion you need to visit northern Norway for the ultimate experience. If you can’t make the journey, this video by Ole C. Salmonsen will have to do.
It’s also the best time-lapse footage of the Aurora Borealis that we’ve seen (we’ll forgive the rather cheesy music). All footage was recorded in or around Tromsø, and bear in mind that it was made last year, so if the scientists are right there should be even more videos being produced this winter.
