I have always heard about the amazing landscapes, exotic wildlife and breathtaking paradise-like beaches that the beautiful land of South Africa had to offer, but it is only once you actually experience the beauty first hand, that it becomes apparent how awe-inspiring this country truly is. It is absolutely impossible to experience each and every experience that the southern tip of Africa presents, but I will try my best to tell you about three of the best out there.
When planning your trip make sure to check out AccommoDirect.com for great Cape Town and Gansbaai accommodation deals.
Cable Car or Hike up Table Mountain, Western Province
Known as one of the new seven natural wonders of the world, it is impossible to visit the southernmost province of South Africa and not experience the sheer beauty that this mountain has to offer.
For the more energetic, hiking up this mountain is a must, allowing you to experience one of the most beautiful views out there, where the wild oceans meets the built up city of Cape Town.
The less energetic will be glad to know that the cable car, with its 360° floor, also provides a fantastic view of the town and the neighbouring mountain peaks. Once at the top, enjoy a relaxing picnic or explore the flat top, as local Rock Dassies scamper around blissfully in search of food.
Sun City Resort, North West Province
If you are searching for one of the best hotels to stay in, the Sun City Resort should definitely be on your list. This architectural beauty can best be described as something straight out of a princess fairy tale, thanks to the amazing Palace of the Lost City.
This resort has something for everyone, including the Valley of Waves waterpark and large gaming arcade for the kids, as well as a world class golf course, relaxing spa and exciting casino for the adults.
The casino is located within the four-star Sun City Hotel and offers a variety of table games as well as many excitingly themed Slot Pokies.
Shark Cage Diving, Western Cape
This is definitely something for the real adrenaline junkies out there. The oceans of Cape Town have a massively diverse shark population, being home to a quarter of the world’s shark species.
After a fast 175km journey from Cape Town to Gansbaai, known as the Great White Shark capital, visitors will have the chance to come face-to-face with these prehistoric monsters. Watching Jaws before the excursion is only advised for the real thrill seekers.
Make sure you are comfortable and looking good while in South Africa with clothing from House of Fraser. I swear by their stylish T-shirts, which tick all the right boxes.
